Korean Bulgogi Sauce

Korean bulgogi sauce is easy to make and will up level some of your favorite dishes. Use it to marinate chicken or beef, use it to stir fry chicken or beef, pour it over a homemade bibimbap or even put it on your homemade burger.

What’s Bulgogi Sauce?

It’s a Korean sauce made with soy sauce, brown sugar, apple juice, apple cider vinegar, fresh garlic, fresh ginger, toasted sesame oil and green onions and often used as a marinade for beef and as a sauce for stir fry.

How to make Bulgogi Sauce from scratch

  • Step 1 – Mix the soy sauce with sugar, apple juice and apple cider vinegar and heat until the sugar melts.
  • Step 2 – Remove from heat and leave to cool.
  • Step 3 – Mix with garlic, ginger, sesame oil and green onions.

Description

Korean bulgogi sauce is easy to make and will up level some of your favorite dishes. Use it to marinate chicken or beef, use it to stir fry chicken or beef, pour it over a homemade bibimbap or even put it on your homemade burger.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of apple juice
  • 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 1 inch of fresh ginger (peeled and grated)
  • 1 tbsp of toasted sesame oil
  • 2 green onions (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Mix the soy sauce with sugar, apple juice and apple cider vinegar and heat until the sugar melts. 
  2. Remove from heat and leave to cool. 
  3. Mix with garlic,  ginger,  sesame oil and green onions.
  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
