Global Winter Comfort Food

Winter comfort food may be some of my favorite food. I absolutely love everything that is warm, cozy, cheesy and in a bowl … which means that I love hearty Winter foods. We hope that this post full of our best Winter meals will give you lots of dinner ideas for cold nights!

Tartiflette

This is one of the best French recipes! Filled with cheese and potatoes, it will transport you to the French alps in no time! I would be perfectly happy eating tartiflette every day, but then we wouldn’t get to enjoy all of the other delicious recipes in this post…

We recently developed this Korean oxtail soup recipe and it has already become one of our favorite soups. Hearty and healthy and full of flavor. This is also a crockpot recipe, so perfect for you if you are having a crockpot moment like we are.

Buckwheat Galette

If you have spent time in France, then you know we love our crepes and galettes! Galettes are the perfect cold weather treat because they are quick, easy and you’ll have lots of them to fill over and over again. The buckwheat adds extra flavor and vitamins – to ward off Winter colds.

Burmese Chicken Curry with Turmeric

Turmeric – the golden spice. Perfect to enjoy all year long but especially in the Winter. We discovered Burmese food while honeymooning in Myanmar. If you haven’t tried it yet for yourself, then make this recipe first and prepare to be delighted!

Purple Carrot Soup

This soup is delicious and beautiful. Naturally made purple by the purple carrots, this soup is a show stopper thanks to its bright color! It is a thick velouté filled with flavor and packed with vitamins. It is also vegan.

Spaghetti alle Vongole

Can you think of anything better to do on a cold Winter night than curl up with a bowl of spaghetti and clams with the one you love? This is one of my favorite dishes of all time and I take every chance I can to enjoy it! If you love clams and a overflowing bowl of Italian pasta, then this recipe is for you too. We first enjoyed this dish in Tuscany where my mom lives and make it at home regularly.

Miso Soup with Leeks and Carrots

This Japanese broth is bursting with miso and veggies. We added noodles too to make a tasty and filling soup.

Perfect Pumpkin Soup

A classic pumpkin soup with a spice-filed twist! I recommend doubling the recipe and having leftover soup to enjoy for the next couple of days. I love reheating soup to make a quick and healthy lunch so we will often make extra soup to make sure we have leftovers.
