  • Paris – the best spots to eat, drink and be merry in Paris where we live (no tourist traps here!)
  • Food Travel – would you describe yourself as a foodie? If you are enthusiastically nodding “yes” you will love our collection of food travel guides. We think that trying new foods is one of the best things about traveling to new places!

Make sure you sign up to receive gourmet recipes & travel tips to help you plan your next trip.

Your Parisian BFFs.

We’re Alix & Hugo and we’re newlyweds.

Alix is originally from NYC and had been dreaming of living in Paris since she was 4. She’s lived here for 18 years! (Time really does fly when you’re living your best life.) Hugo is from Picardie, France and has been living in Paris for 10 years. We met in Paris 8 years ago and we have been cooking up a storm ever since! We LOVE to cook, travel and surprise one another! We live in Paris in a townhouse we share with our two yorkies, Violette & ChouChou!

What kind of recipes can you find on A Hedgehog in the Kitchen?

We create real food, gourmet, International recipes using natural and organic ingredients. Our recipes are for the adventurous homecook who loves to experiment in the kitchen to bring more flavor, excitement and tastiness into his or her life.

We cook mostly vegetarian recipes, although we do love making fish and meat recipes from time to time. Would you call us flexitarian? I guess that’s what we are. We use lots of spices and love sharing new ingredients we discover at our Parisian farmers’ markets.
