Lavender Honey Ice Cream Ingredients

You only need a handful of ingredients to make this fabulous ice cream. You most likely already have most of them in your home. You will need milk, plain yogurt, cream, honey, brown sugar and dried lavender. We use our Kitchenaid KICA ice cream maker to make ice cream as it creates the perfectly smoothe and creamy texture we love.

How to make lavender ice cream

The scent of lavender evokes images of beautiful lavender fields in Provence, rosé, sun kissed cheeks and romantic evenings. You are sure to be swept away on a romantic daydream as you prepare this delightful ice cream concoction. It is the perfect treat for a romantic evening with your special someone or as a light and refreshing dessert for the whole family. It is also sure to wow your guests if you are planning a Summer dinner party. You will want to eat this ice cream without hesitation all Summer long!

Tips

  • Select your honey with care – the flavour of the honey you choose will have an impact on the overall taste of the ice cream you produce.
  • Eat immediately – although you can keep the ice cream overnight or even for a few days in the fridge, it gets much harder and a bit icier. We prefer to enjoy this ice cream right away after it has been churned and frozen. You could prepare it right before having friends over for example and serve it at the end of the meal.

FAQS

What does lavender honey ice cream taste like?

In our opinion, lavender ice cream should have a hint of a floral, lavender scent and flavour. Any more than that, and it can be overpowering. We’ve tested our recipe many times to make sure it has just the right amount of lavender to be deliciously fragrant rather than overpowering or soapy. (Some store-bought lavender ice creams taste like soap in our opinion!)

What goes with lavender ice cream? How to serve

This lavender ice cream recipe pairs really nicely with a variety of desserts.

Serve it with :

  • Cake
  • A selection of other ice creams (classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate go really nicely)
  • Pie
  • Cobbler

Hey guys I just added this recipe to my list for Christmas dinner. I know it’s a summer recipe but I think it will work great after a heavy meal with all that meat specially because of it’s honey and lavender aromas. Since we don’t own an ice-cream maker I will try it the traditional way so if you have any ideas or advices about this I’ll be happy to hear all about it.
Thank you for this wonderful recipe.
Lots of love and kisses from Amsterdam xoxo

Hi dear! SO glad you did! It’s funny you chose this recipe for your Christmas dinner because I was just saying to Hugo that I thought this ice cream would be perfect for the Christmas. Although we originally posted it for the Summer months, it is true that it is refreshing after all that eating and something about the lavender and honey makes it kinda festive! We hope you really love it. We’ve never made no churn ice cream before but this is a good article about it : http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-no-churn-ice-cream-cooking-lessons-from-the-kitchn-220413 . It should work but it may be less creamy. We can’t wait to hear how it goes! 🙂
