Tips to make the perfect sweet potato wedges

  • Cover the sweet potato wedges generously with spices for optimal taste!
  • Make your own honey mustard or BBQ sauce for dipping.
  • Put the tray in the lowest position in the oven for baking.

We are slightly sweet potato obsessed in our home! We love using this versatile veggie to make all kinds of soups, quiches and more. The first few years I was living in France, sweet potatoes were pretty much non-existent here! Thank goodness they started popping up in our local markets because I seriously missed them. Hugo has now fallen in love with them too.

In addition to being delicious, sweet potatoes are a great source of vitamin C, manganese, potassium and vitamins B1 and B2.

Add your own twist to the sweet potato wedges

  • Mix it up by using different spices – we also love cumin, cilantro, paprika, turmeric and curry.
  • Switch out the sweet potato for another vegetable – we like turnips, carrots and parsnips. These are all delicious mixed as well.
  • Top your sweet potato wedges with a generous helping of parmesan sweet potato wedges to make parmesan sweet potato fries.

These wedges will taste even more delicious if you use a high quality olive oil. We love this organic olive from Mr. Organic.

To keep the sweet potato wedges from sticking to your baking tray, you can line it with parchment paper or use a silpat.

Sweet potato wedges wine pairing :

We highly recommend a full bodied Merlot to go with these amazingly yum sweet potato wedges, such as this Altos de San Esteban La Perra Gorda 2015 (Spain).
