What’s in season in June – the ultimate shopping list for gourmet home cooks
Apricots
When I think of apricots I always think of two things. The Languedoc-Roussillon apricots that pop up all over France during apricot season and my father-in-law (who hates them). He only dislikes them now because at one point in his life he ate far too many. Here in France, we love apricot jam, apricot tarts, apricot sorbet and biting into seasonal apricots all Summer long.

Avocado
Knowing how to spot a ripe avocado is the key to using this beautiful fruit in exactly the right way every time. To know if an avocado is ripe, gently squeeze it without adding too much pressure to avoid any bruising. If it yields to firm pressure, it is ready for you to use in all your favorite avocado recipes. (Yay!) In France, we love enjoying a half avocado filled with crab meat, lobster meat, or crayfish.
