One Sunday morning in June we set out towards the 18th arrondissement in search of BOB’S BAKE SHOP in Paris. We had heard that this was THE place to go in Paris for a green smoothie.
Until recently, the green smoothie excitement had not yet arrived in Paris. We loved seeing photos of green smoothies on Instagram but had never tried one ourselves. We heard that BOB’S BAKE SHOP was the place to go in Paris for a green smoothie so we added it to our June bucketlist. For new readers, this is the list we update monthly to share the places we will be eating in Paris each month.
So we headed over to BOB’S BAKE SHOP for the famous green smoothie ! Unfortunately, they didn’t have any green smoothies that day so we gave into temptation and chose a slightly less healthy alternative…
What to expect at Bob’s Bake Shop
A gorgeous collection of sweet treats!
What did we try?
Chia & berry pudding
We had never tried chia seeds. I know it’s surprising as they are so popular in the States but they’re actually kind of hard to find in Paris. This is a really yummy combo : chia seeds in a pudding with mini cherries and blueberries. It’s not very sweet with a gorgeous red berry flavor. Apparently chia seeds also pack a healthy punch. (#awesome).
Matcha chocolate chunk cookie
This cookie was delicious ! Matcha is seriously popular in Paris at the moment … matcha, matcha, matcha ! Check out our July bucketlist to find out where we had our first ever matcha latte.
Carrot muffin
The carrot muffin was an American classic filled with spices. The texture was perfect : moist and delicious.
Chocolate & cream cheese glazed roll
This pastry is like a cinnamon roll revisited in a chocolate version with is clearly a win-win. Chou Chou wanted to taste the cream cheese frosting! (He may have had a little lick!)
Fresh squeezed juice : orange, apricot, mint, strawberry & banana
It can be difficult to find fresh juice in Paris. We really enjoyed this fresh mixed juice. It was a delicious combination of sweet, tangy and spicy with the fresh mint thrown in. We are huge fans of fresh mint so this juice was definitely a favorite of ours !
If you are living in Paris, or just coming through for a quick visit, we would recommend this spot as a great place to stop for a coffee and cake, to work a little or to chat with a friend. The ambiance is cool and relaxed and we’re sure that you will be happy with your experience at BOB’S BAKE SHOP.
