Description

Japanese scallops with leeks and miso are a simple dinner, bursting with flavor and rich in nutrients. 10 ingredients and 30 minutes is all you need!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 scallops
  • 3 leeks
  • 1tsp of fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp of chili
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1,5 cup of water
  • 1 miso cube
  • 1 tsp of sesame seeds
  • 20 squares of nori (1/2 inch)
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the (washed) leeks into strips like tagliatelle pasta.
  2. Heat 1,5 cup of water on high heat with a miso cube until it boils.
  3. Turn the heat up to medium heat and leave to cook.
  4. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a frying pan on medium heat.
  5. Add the leeks and stir with a wooden spoon.
  6. Add salt and continue to stir.
  7. Add a ladle of miso soup in with the leeks.
  8. Add the fennel seeds and chili pepper.
  9. Cook until the leeks are well cooked (15 minutes).
  10. Add black pepper just before serving.
  11. Heat olive oil in another frying pan on medium heat.
  12. Add the scallops and cook for a minute on each side.
  13. Add salt and pepper.
  14. Top the leek noodles with scallops. Add miso soup, sesame seeds and nori squares before serving.
