Romantic Stay in Paris
This is the staycation we’ve done that was the closest to our home. We checked into the Hotel Parister just a few streets down from chez nous for a romantic day of exploration and relaxation.
The plush interior of the hotel is chic and welcoming. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome water and complimentary snack, coffee and tea. Each room has a coffee machine for that first coffee in the morning. We always look for this when we travel because we love having a coffee in bed before we head down to breakfast.
We also received a smart phone to use during our stay. We loved this Handy concept because the phone is filled with fun restaurant, café and shopping recommendations and it makes it easier for you to plan our trip.
We love the colorful cushions and seriously comfortable bed! The shiny sea foam green bathroom tiles are unique and inviting after a long day of exploring Paris.
The hotel decoration is minimalist, yet styled. The pinks and greens used throughout the hotel are soothing. The outdoor vegetation in the courtyard of the hotel add to the bohemian vibe and invite you to curl up with a good book and coffee outdoors. When we visited it was still too cold to really spend time in the courtyard but it would be a lovely on a beautiful sunny day!
Exploring the 9th arrondissement
After checking into our room, we went out to explore and enjoy the surrounding neighborhood around the hotel which include lunch at Bouillon Chartier and a stroll in the Palais Royal Gardens where we stopped for a matcha latte at Café Kitsune. Hotel Parister is also steps away from the Opéra Garnier, our favorite English bookstore Brentano’s and the sweet delights that await you at Casse Noisette.

Relaxation and romance
Back from exploring, we decided it was time for a dip in the pool followed by a rest in the hammam. The holistic spa, featuring a pool, gym and hammam experience, provide a true haven of peace in the center of the city.
We went out for dinner. We had been craving Mexican food and our favorite Mexican restaurant, Zicatela, is just down the street from Hotel Parister. We decided to go there for dinner, then came home fora relaxing night.
After a glorious sleep in a very comfortable bed, we woke up and made a quick espresso to enjoy in bed. The perfect way to slowing wake up from a very peaceful sleep.
A tasty Parisian breakfast
A romantic stay in Paris would not be complete without a classic Parisian breakfast. We headed down to breakfast in the hotel restaurant and bar, Les Passerelles. Breakfast was a mixture of strong coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, classic Parisian viennoiseries (pain au chocolat, croissant, pain au raisin) and eggs. You can choose how you’d like your eggs to be prepared (omelette, brouillés – scrambled…) and sit as long as you like and enjoy as much of the buffet as you like. There was also a selection of meats and cheeses which you often find in European hotels. I typically don’t love eating cheese first thing in the morning but Hugo loves it and always adds some to his plate. I always sneak a bite or two from him…
We highly recommend a romantic stay at the Hotel Parister if you are looking for a hotel that is chic, welcoming and the perfect spot to stay à deux.
