If you are looking for an easy and beautiful day trip from Paris, the Parc de Sceaux is a great choice. You can walk around the park, stop for a French picnic complete with baguette, cheese, wine and pastries, stop for a coffee and a homemade crème brulée at the café, visit the Chateau de Sceaux and enjoy the gorgeous cherry blossoms (if you visit in April). The Parc de Sceaux is easily accessible from Paris – it’s just one hour from Paris on the RER and the perfect day trip if you are visiting Paris in the Spring.
History of the Parc de Sceaux
The beautiful park was designed by Andre Le Notre, a famous French landscape architect and the principal gardener of King Louis XIV of France. He also designed the parks and gardens of Chantilly, Saint Germain, Fontainebleau, Vaux-le-Vicomte and perhaps, most famously, Versailles.
Cherry blossoms at the Parc de Sceaux
April is cherry blossom season and if you are visiting Paris in April, then you must not miss a trip to see them. They are absolutely gorgeous! Another bonus if you visit in April, is that you may see some ducklings!
Parc de sceaux cherry blossom festival
Each year, Parisians and travellers alike, gather to celebrate the beautiful open cherry blossoms just outside of Paris. This year we were there to celebrate the flowers and lay underneath the blossoms. The park filled with the sound of traditional Japanese music. You can get a taste of the ambience by watching the video below.

We had such a great time laying on the grass, reading, listening to the music and just spending some quality time together.
