November inspiration! November was so much fun – a month filled with travel, food experiences, champagne tasting and, of course, yummy food! We spent a weekend à deux in Reims in the Champagne region.

November inspiration : RECIPES
We continued sharing pumpkin recipes in November. We think you can never have enough pumpkin recipes and clearly you guys agree. We are really touched to have over 35000 of you visiting our recipes every month on Pinterest. That is a HUGE community of awesome, food-lovin’ peeps and we are so happy to have you here with us enjoying our work. This was our most shared pin this month.
We shared these recipes in November :
Spaghetti squash noodles + arugula pesto
Pumpkin mushroom bowls + brown rice
Lemon ginger infused apple cider cocktail
Jack Be Little mini pumpkins + raclette cheese
November inspiration : COOL FOODIE EVENTS
In November, we had the chance to attend the Salon Marjolaine : an organic fair in the Bois de Vincennes that features everything from organic food, chocolate and tea to organic textiles. You can peruse, taste, try on and buy to your heart’s desire (article about our day coming soon!).
If you didn’t get a chance to read about our experience meeting Mercotte and tasting her verveine-citronnelle macarons at last month’s Salon du Chocolat, take a look.
November inspiration : IN OUR READING NOOK (our favorite books at the moment)
We bought the Skinnytaste cookbook recently and are loving it! It is FULL of healthy recipes that are easy to pull together. These recipes can be eaten without any food guilt whatsoever as they are filled with nutritious ingredients. The majority of the recipes are also low calorie. We are going through the cookbook recipe by recipe. We are enjoying our experience with this book so much that we even decided to include it as part of our Parisian Holiday Shopping Guide.
I am also reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. I have read all of her books. This book speaks directly to creative people and explains how she views her relationship to creativity. A wonderful and inspirational book for creatives everywhere and particularly adapted to people like me who are self-employed!
November inspiration : RESTAURANTS
We tried the YAM’TCHA BOUTIQUE this month and LOVED it! We shared a tasting menu of bao buns. Our favorite was the stilton – cherry. The concept? YAM’TCHA BOUTIQUE is a tea salon run by of the husband-wife team behind the starred YAM’TCHA restaurant success. BTW, we are trying YAM’TCHA (the starred restaurant on the rue Saint Honoré in the 1st arrondissement in Paris) in January. (Stay tuned for details.)
November inspiration : PARISIAN MARKETS
We LOVE the Marché d’Aligre in the 12th arrondissement. Have you been there? If you live here or are planning a trip to Paris, we highly recommend checking out the Marché d’Aligre on a Sunday morning. They have a huge selection of organic fruits and veggies. It’s really Parisian market culture at its best! We also love it because it’s a very personal place for us. When Hugo and I first met, he lived closed to the Marché d’Aligre and so we started our tradition of going there on Sunday mornings to do our shopping in the very beginning of our relationship. Since we’ve lived in the 9th for 3 years now, we are a little far from there which means we go a less often, but it is always fun to return to our old stomping grounds. The Marché d’Aligre is a treat to see and experience because it is a traditional covered Parisian market. It is also home to the famous Le Baron. Le Baron is a French institution which merits its own article so we’ll add that to our list of articles to bring to you very soon. (Teaser alert : it is THE spot to eat oysters and drink white wine on garbage bins on Sunday morning. Just sayin’.)
November inspiration : TRAVEL
We visited Reims this month. We had several food experiences planned – food tours and restaurants, as well as museums and mass at the famous cathedral of Reims. We managed to pack everything into 2 days. Read about our trip and get our restaurant, food and champagne tour recommendations in our post, 2 days in Reims.
We told you about our collaboration with Fossier this month. We brought you on our tour of the Fossier factory in Reims, where they continue to make the famous pink biscuits and gingerbread “à l’ancienne” according to traditional recipes, in our Instagram stories. Check out our pictures on our hedgehog Instagram page.
We are currently busy testing, tasting and developing recipes using Fossier’s famous little pink biscuits and their new line of gingerbread. To say that it smells really good at our place, is an understatement. You can see our first gingerbread post here.
November inspiration : THANKSGIVING WITH FRIENDS
We are thankful for good friends now and always! We were so happy to host Thanksgiving this year with our beautiful group of friends. What are you thankful for this year?
Flashback to our very first Thanksgiving, which was also the day our families met! It was really special and we love this photo as it always reminds us of that day! (You guys, this was the FIRST TURKEY we ever made! We were so proud to host Thanksgiving and treat our family to a gorgeous meal.)
We want you to spoil your friends and loved ones too and that’s why we put together our Parisian Holiday Shopping Guide for you to find a selection of beautiful gifts. We organized our lists by category : the homecook, the foodie, the tech geek, the World traveler, the cookbook lover, the bookworm… We are especially excited about these beautiful copper cannelé molds because we will be going to Bordeaux in January and showing you how to make this classic French pastry from Bordeaux when we get back…
HAPPY DECEMBER!
We’re wishing all of you a very joyful holiday season filled with family and friends, love, great food and adventure! This season is all about traditions for us and we would love to hear yours? How do you celebrate the holidays? What recipes are you making? Do you host or do you prefer to be invited? Favorite foodie gifts? Let us know in the comments!
