Nicaraguan guacamole is overflowing with avocado, hard boiled eggs, cilantro, lime and red onion. The addition of hard boiled egg takes the juicy flavor of traditional guacamole up a notch! You will love this authentic Nicaraguan dish.

We are so excited to share this new way to make guacamole with you today. Nicaraguan cuisine includes lots of dishes we are planning to make and share with you one day. Tips to make this Nicaraguan guacamole

  • Make sure that your eggs are completely hard boiled to avoid adding any runny yolk to the Nicaraguan guacamole.
  • Wait until the eggs are cooled to peel them to avoid burning your fingers and to avoid adding heat to your guacamole!

Nicaraguan Guacamole

Add your own twist to this Nicaraguan guacamole

  • Skip the eggs and make classic Mexican guacamole.
  • Skip the eggs and add yuzu to make yuzu guacamole.
  • Coarsely chop the avocado to make chunky guacamole.
  • Finely chop the eggs and avocado to make more of a Nicaraguan avocado mousse rather than a Nicaraguan guacamole.

Description

Heavenly Nicaraguan guacamole is bursting with creamy flavors of avocado, hard boiled eggs, cilantro, lime and red onion.


Ingredients

Scale

1 egg
1 large avocado
1/4 cup of cilantro (chopped)
Juice of a 1/2 lime
1/2 inch of ginger (grated)
1 little red onion (chopped)
Salt and ground black pepper to taste


Instructions

Heat a small pan with water on high heat.
When the water begins to boil, add the egg and cook for 9 minutes.
Remove the egg from the pan and put the egg in cold water and leave to cool.
Meanwhile, mix the Avocado to make a puree.
Mix in the cilantro, lime, ginger, red onion, a pinch of salt and ground black pepper.
Remove the eggshell of the egg and chop the egg.
Mix the egg into the guacamole.

Notes

Serve with bread, carrot sticks, cucumber sticks…
