Fine Dining at L'Aloze at the Hotel Atlantic Wimereux

We had the chance to have a lovely dinner at L’Aloze inside the Hotel Atlantic Wimereux during our recent trip to Northern French coast. This was one of our favorite meals during our trip, along with our Michelin starred dining experience at La Matelote and the restaurant with the best view of the ocean, La Sirene in Cap Gris Nez.

Wimereux is one of the most beautiful coastal towns in France, about a 15 minute drive from Boulogne-sur-Mer. It is a wonderful place to visit if you love the beach, gorgeous seafood, nature walks and relaxed fine dining.

It is the perfect destination for a couple looking for a relaxed weekend, or even a day trip, from Paris.

Dining at Hotel Atlantic Wimereux

The restaurant interior is beach chic with a beautiful view of the glistening water right outside. The restaurant was renovated in 2016, and the result is an airy, Scandinavian space, enriched by unvarnished wooden hues and clean, contemporary style.

Our Meal at Hotel Atlantic Wimereux

This is the perfect place to have a relaxing meal as a couple. We were seated at a darling table for two next to the open kitchen, which gave us a perfect view of the open concept kitchen on my right, where we were able to see our meal being prepared, and the sea on the left.

We started with a lovely glass of wine and a toast to our fabulous, romantic evening. (Look at that face – I love him so much.)

We shared the tuna starter. A tuna pastrami, topped with arugula and crispy onions, it was absolutely divine. This was not a traditional French dish, but more of an Asian fusion-French concoction.

We continued with the sea bass, served with red quinoa, a crispy parmesan biscuit and a side of mushrooms. We were so tempted by this dish that we decided to both order it. We both loved it. That crispy skin though.

Then, it was time for dessert! Hello panna cotta with strawberries and tasty crumble. It was so good!

Wimereux Beach Outside the Hotel Atlantic Wimereux

After dinner, we headed out for a walk along Wimereux beach. It was golden hour, the best time to take pictures along the water in my opinion. We had so much fun strolling hand in hand, giggling, snapping photos, talking and just taking it all in.

During our walk, we saw lots of beautiful cabines de plages, or beach cabins, along the water. They are all similar in size, but they are all decorated differently. Some are painted in a solid color, while others, like the one above, is an absolute work of art.
