How to make orange chocolate fudge

This recipe couldn’t be any simpler!

Eating chocolate fudge in Scotland

This tasty chocolate recipe is the delicious result of our trip to Edinburgh and all of the fudge we ate along the way. Our trip to Edinburgh looked something like this : arrive, check-in to our swanky hotel, try fudge for the first time, fall in love with said fudge, eat fudge for the rest of our trip… You get the picture! It was really fun and we highly recommend you take a trip there one day if you get the chance.

Easy orange chocolate fudge recipe

Besides this recipe being delicious and easy, here are some other reasons you should add making this fudge to your family’s Christmas to-do list :

  • Christmas gift for your kids’ teachers? Perfect.
  • Looking for a stocking stuffer idea that everyone will love? Done.
  • Think it’s so sweet to give homemade, edible Christmas gifts but hate spending hours making Christmas cookies? Problem solved.
  • Looking for a romantic treat to share with your husband in bed on Christmas morning? Look no further.

What was it about the fudge that made us fall in love during our stay in Edinburgh anyway?

We love fudge because of the flavor – of course. However, there was more to it. Walking around the quaint streets of Edinburgh, seeing the fudge shops along Royal Mile , the colors, the scents, the cozy cold weather. (Oh did we mention it was Winter and it was very very cold in Edinburgh when we visited?!)

It was all perfect – which is why we absolutely recommend traveling to eat. Check out this post about eating our way through Tuscany to see what I mean.

Orange Chocolate Fudge is the perfect homemade gift for the holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7 oz of dark chocolate (70%)
  • 6 oz of sweet condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp of butter
  • Zest of one medium ripe orange

Instructions

  1. Put the ingredients in a pan and heat on low heat.
  2. Whisk with a wooden spoon until the mixture melts and combines.
  3. Pour into a bottomless buttered mold (or cake frame) and refrigerate for an hour.

Notes

This organic 70% chocolate is similar to the one we use here in France for this recipe.
This is the cake frame we use for to make our homemade fudge.
