10 Things to do in Gerberoy
1. Have a leisurely lunch at Les Remparts.
Gerberoy is very small and there are only a few restaurants to choose from. We loved our lunch at Les Remparts. We munched on local meats and cheeses and drank a deep red wine. It was perfect. Everyone at the restaurant was welcoming and friendly.
2. Make sure you try the Bray Picard cheese.
Bray Picard is a soft, local cheese made with unpasteurized cow’s milk. It is delicious with baguette or a grainy bread. We love trying different cheeses as we travel around France and this was the first time that we had seen or tried a Bray Picard. We tried it at Les Remparts and it was baked in the oven with herbs. It was really lovely and we would love to have it again.
3. Visit the Henri Le Sidaner garden.
The impressionist painter Henri Le Sidaner fell in love with the village of Gerberoy nestled in the French countryside. He created a three level Italian garden within the ruins of a 19th century castle. The Henri Le Sidaner garden in Gerberoy is the perfect spot to enjoy panoramic views and the breathtaking flowers.

5. Find an elevated spot to appreciate the views over the quaint Gerberoy rooftops.
We took this photo from the Henri Le Sidaner garden. There are certain spots that you can climb up to get a perfect, elevated view over the village of Gerberoy.
6. Visit the collegiate church of Saint Pierre.
The old collegiate church of Saint Pierre in Gerberoy is a sight to be seen. Started in the 11th century, and completed in the 15th century, the oldest parts of the church are in the simple Roman style and the rest of the church is in the imposing Gothic style. The church has been on the list of historical monuments of France since 1984 and definitely worth a visit when you are exploring Gerberoy.
7. Walk through the village and check out all of the beautiful homes.
The houses in Gerberoy are so beautiful. Everything about the village of Gerberoy is picturesque. It seems that some of the houses in this tiny village for sale. You can see the luxury listings here if you’re curious about real estate in France.

This building dates all the way back to the 17th century. On the first floor up, you can visit a small town museum, where local artists’ painting and posters, as well as the town’s archives, are on display.
9. Visit the ramparts.
The ramparts are the remains of the stone wall that protected Gerberoy in the past. The ramparts and old cobblestone streets will not disappoint! They add to the authentic charm of this lovely little village.
10. Visit Le Jardin des Ifs – the stunning rose garden.
Le Garden de Ifs is exquisite. Visit to see the spectacular roses and impressive topiaries. This garden is so peaceful and you could spend jours just walking around or sitting and enjoying the flowers. You can also stop for tea in the garden if you want to rest or your feet, or even plan to have lunch here in the restaurant.
We didn’t try the restaurant ourselves as we hadn’t planned in advance and it was quite full, but we would definitely eat there next time. The restaurant offers two menus, one is entrée (starter)/plat (main course) or plat (main course)/ dessert (dessert) for 28€ or entrée (starter)/plat (main course)/ dessert (dessert) for 35€. There are two time slots if you want to eat here, the first starting at 12h30 and the second starting at 13h45/1:45 pm. Arrive early, especially if you are traveling during peak tourist season (June-August).
