French Tomato Tart

Description

Heavenly French tomato tart is the perfect dinner dish made from puff pastry, heirloom tomatoes, Emmental cheese, chives and mustard.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 shortcrust pastry
  • 2 tbsp of mustard
  • 1 cup of grated Emmental cheese
  • 3 medium heirloom tomatoes (sliced)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp of chives
  • Olive oil 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (210°C).
  2. Line a quiche pan with the puff pastry.
  3. Make small holes in the pastry using a fork to keep the quiche from swelling as it cooks.
  4. Top with parchment paper and baking beans.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove the shortcrust pastry from the oven and remove the baking beans and parchment paper.
  7. Spread the mustard over the quiche crust.
  8. Add the grated cheese and sliced tomato.
  9. Top with 2 tablespoons of grated cheese.
  10. Season with salt and pepper.
  11. Bake for 20 minutes.
  12. Sprinkle chopped chives over the tart before serving.
