This easy tomato tart calls for a handful of simple ingredients.
- Shortcrust pastry
- French mustard
- Grated Emmental cheese (or your fave cheese)
- Medium tomatoes
- Fresh chives
- Olive oil
How to make a French tomato tart step by step
- Step 1 – Preheat oven to 400°F (210°C).
- Step 2 – Line a quiche pan with the puff pastry.
- Step 3 – Make small holes in the pastry using a fork to keep the quiche from swelling as it cooks.
- Step 4 – Top with parchment paper and baking beans.
- Step 5 – Bake for 15 minutes.
- Step 6 – Remove the shortcrust pastry from the oven and remove the baking beans and parchment paper.
- Step 7 – Spread the mustard over the quiche crust.
- Step 8 – Add the grated Emmental cheese and sliced tomato.
- Step 9 – Top with 2 tablespoons of grated cheese.
- Step 10 – Season with salt and pepper.
- Step 11 – Bake for 20 minutes.
- Step 12 – Sprinkle chopped chives over the tart before serving.
