A Buttery, Flaky Croissant
Everyone knows that Paris is known for croissants, but you are no average traveler so you don’t want to eat an average croissant (yes, unfortunately they exist, even in Paris). While you’re here, make sure you check out the best croissant in Paris.
Heavenly Chocolate Mousse
The Chapon chocolate mousse bar takes chocolate mousse to a whole new level. It really is out of this world. They have a variety of different chocolate mousses to choose from, using chocolate from different part of the World and different percentages of chocolate.
French Inspired Donuts
You may be surprised to see donuts on the list of foods to try in Paris, but hear me out. Boneshaker Donuts has changed the donut game by creating a donut-brioche hybrid that you have to try. They are the best donuts in Paris!

Parisian Afternoon Tea Treats at a Luxury Hotel
I love afternoon tea anywhere in the World, but especially high tea in Paris. The French version of afternoon tea features a borderline excessive amount of sweet treats making it the best, and most delicious, afternoon tea experience in my opinion. Head to Le Meurice to sample all of Cedric Grolet’s tasty creations.

A Caramel- Filled Croissant
If the thought of eating a buttery, flaky croissant during your trip to Paris has you drooling, then you will definitely want to try the salted caramel filled variety. Karamel Paris is a French bakery and coffeeshop dedicated to, you guess it, everything caramel. Pastry chef Nicolas Haelewyn has created the perfect caramel croissant that is every caramel lover’s dream. (Update 2021 : Sadly, Karamel is now permanently closed.)
A Classic Steak frites
Head to the one and only Bouillon Chartier Paris for a fantastic experience and very reasonably priced steak frites. Otherwise, you could also dine at La Palette for a swankier, Saint Germain version of this traditional, French bistro dish.
Oysters and White Wine
Sitting down for oysters and wine is a quintessential Parisian experience. Our favorite place to go for this decadent combination is the Marché d’Aligre in the 12th arrondissement. The Baron Rouge is a little bistro along the market that has become a Parisian institution over the years. On the weekends, locals and visitors alike line up to get their plate of oysters and white wine. The perfect way to start a trip to the market or end it!
Macarons
You can’t come to Paris without trying macarons. Everyone has their favorites. I recommend trying a variety if you have the time but if you can only go to one spot to have the best, drop your bags and head straight to Pierre Herme, no questions asked.
