As a New Yorker-turned expat in Paris for the past 20+ years, I’ve spent all of my adult life missing bagels. Paris does many things well but bagels is unfortunately not one of them. You can imagine my excitement friends who live in the Netherlands recommended we try the bagels at Breadwinner!

We jumped at the chance to seek out the tiny little bagel shop. We even went back several times during our most recent trip to Amsterdam.

What is Breadwinner Amsterdam?

Breadwinner Amsterdam is an adorable bagel shop selling delicious, hand-rolled sourdough bagels in the Jordaan neighborhood in Paris.

They serve coffee with your bagels too!

What to order at Breadwinner Amsterdam

For a simple breakfast or lunch, you can’t go wrong with a bagel with cream cheese. My favorite bagel will always and forever be the everything bagel, but you can choose from plain, everything, sesame, salt, onion, jalapeno, and poppy seed.

There are several bagel sandwiches on the menu and each one sounds absolutely divine!

We haven’t tried them all but we loved the two we tried :

the “smoked salmon” : hot smoked Faroe Island salmon with cream cheese, onions and capers (also available with traditional smoked salmon) and
the “pastrami” : smoked beef brisket, dijon mustard, sauerkraut, emmental cheese, and salted butter.

Yum, yum, yum! I’m getting hungry just writing this.
