We are sharing the top 5 of the best croissants in Paris (in no particular order) in this post. In our minds, all of the croissants on this list are practically perfect croissants! 1. Landemaine Bakery
The croissants at Landemaine Bakery are fluffy. Just look at all of those gorgeous layers of pastry dough. At Landemaine, the croissants are made with the finest ingredients : Label Rouge flour, AOP Charentes-Poitou Lescure butter, and free-range eggs. We lived next door to this bakery for years and ate these croissants regularly which makes us experts I would say!

2. Du Pain et des Idées
Christophe Vasseur, a self-made baker, quit his former life and turned towards his passion for bread 20 years ago. He created the fabulous Du Pain et des Idées bakery in a true, 19th century, Parisian bakery. Everything is amazing but make sure you try one of their croissants.

3. Panifica Bakery
Panifica is the best place to go for organic croissants in Paris. Panifica is also in our old neighborhood and we ate more croissants here than we could count! They are absolutely delicious and the perfect choice if you want to enjoy an organic croissant in Paris. (Side note : if you stop by Panifica, make sure you pick up a pain aux raisins as well, in our opinion, it is the absolute best in Paris!)

4. Pierre Hermé
Pierre Hermé make the most absolutely dreamy Ispahan croissants. Pierre Hermé was named best pastry chef in the world in 2016. His creations are absolutely fabulous. These croissants are flaky, crunchy-on-the-outside and fluffy-on-the-inside and filled with an Ispahan cream, which is a combination of rose, raspberry and lychee.

5. Gerard Mulot
Come to Maison Mulot for buttery, flaky and delicious croissants in the 6th arrondissement, near Saint Germain des Près. Pro tip : buy more than one, 3 per person is absolutely reasonable!

Stohrer is the oldest pastry shop in all of Paris and definitely worth a visit during your trip! It was founded all the way back in 1730 by the pastry chef to King Louis XV.

7. Laurent Dûchene
Laurent Dûchene is famous for his buttery croissant topped with a chocolate swirl and filled with a rich and decadent homemade spread. In case you’re wondering, it is pure Heaven! He has three boulangeries, the first one is in the Buttes aux Cailles neighborhood of Paris, off the beaten track, in the 13th arrondissement.

8. Cédric Grolet
Cédric Grolet’s croissants are absolutely exquisite! These are the flakiest croissants we have ever tasted. Go early in the morning to avoid having to wait on a long line to get your croissants.

9. Ritz Paris Le Comptoir
The Ritz Paris Le Comptoir has the most unusually shaped croissant on this list. In the photo below, the croissant is on the left and the pain au chocolat is on the right. The croissant is butter and flaky with a beautiful feuilltage just like another wonderful croissant but it is a long rectangular shape, created by François Perret, the Ritz pastry chef.

After doing a lot of very tasty research, we decided that our absolute favorite croissant in Paris can be found at Gerard Mulot. However, we love them all so if you are here for a few days, or an even longer stay, make sure you try a variety of croissants in Paris, or even do a croissant crawl and try them all!
