86 Champs was born out of the collaboration between pastry chef extraordinaire Pierre Herme and the French luxury body care brand l’Occitane. The luxury cafe is located on the beautiful Champs Elysees, just steps away from the Arc de Triomphe, and is one of our favorite Parisian cafes.
Getting to 86 Champs
When my best friend from high school sent me an email to say she was coming to Paris, I jumped at the chance to spend every moment of a week with her and to discover lots of newer Parisian places I hadn’t yet had the chance to try. 86 Champs was one of those places, along with tea at Le Meurice and chocolate mousse at the Chapon chocolate mousse bar.
We loved going to 86 Champs for breakfast and went at least 3 times during her one week stay. It is the ideal spot to have a perfect French omelette, drink an Ispahan latte or eat a Heavenly pistachio and chocolate filled croissant. There is also a macaron bar and you can purchase boxed macarons to take with you, so this is the place for you if you are on the lookout for French macarons as well.

Pierre Hermé
Proclaimed “the Picasso of pastry” by Vogue, Pierre Herme grew up in the Alsatian bakery and pastry-making tradition. He is extremely famous in France, Japan and the US. Best known for his delicious macarons, he also creates exquisite pastries. We personally believe that his macarons are the best in Paris.
L’Occitane
Best known for their Provence-inspired body care products, l’Occitane has teamed up with Pierre Herme to create a luxury cafe and concept store experience. You can purchase a l’Occitane hand cream as you munch on a Pierre Herme macaron, often both are the same scent/flavor. It’s quite divine.
What to get when you visit 86 Champs
What is Ispahan?
Ispahan is a city in Iran and also the inspiration behind the Ispahan pastry combination, created by Pierre Herme. It is a delicate and fragrant combination of rose and litchi and one of my favorite flavor combinations.
Pierre Herme desserts
Ispahan croissant
If you like rose and litchi, do not leave Paris without trying an Ispahan croissant. It is filled with sweet Ispahan cream and it is Heavenly. It may have been my favorite treat that I tried at 86 Champs.
Pistacchio and chocolate croissant
My friend MA tried the pistachio and chocolate croissant and was generous enough to share a bite with me as well. It was very, very good!
The perfect French omelette
One of the most remarkable things about eating at 86 Champs is the opportunity to try a perfect French omelette. These are rare and hard to come by – even in France.
I am including a video below so you can see what a perfectly cooked French omelette looks like.
A French omelette should not have any brown on it and no lumps. It should be smooth, yellow and rolled.
