Yogurt kefir banana lassi smoothies for two, please. Hugo and I jokingly make our order from bed on Saturday morning.
When Starbucks first came to Paris, I used to joke that it would be so amazing to have a Starbucks barista that would magically appear in our kitchen in the morning (and several times throughout the day!) to deliver freshly brewed caramel macchiatos.
That was a long time ago and before I had fully discovered the joys of discovering your own kitchen and home cooking. A Starbucks is nice from time to time but cannot compare to when Hugo brews coffee on Saturday morning topped with a dollop of homemade whipped cream.
It’s sweet to run out quickly and bring home a coffee bar coffee for my love but it cannot compare to telling him to sit down and relax while I make him a delightful “thé gourmand” (tea with mini desserts).
Back to Saturday morning and our first inspiration of the day : to create a new recipe.

It turns out we were on point with this recipe. The mixture of yogurt, kefir and banana is delightful. We added some honey to sweeten it up a bit but it would also be delicious without the added sweetness. Some mornings, I am really not in the mood for anything sweet. If that is the case for you, you could absolutely skip the honey and enjoy a slightly sour smoothie.
The most delicious lassi we have ever tasted was in a tiny Indian restaurant in Myanmar. It was made with natural yogurt and left completely unsweetened. It was unlike anything we had ever tasted; thick and creamy and slightly sour. We haven’t been to India. We can’t wait to try a lassi there one day, however, this lassi seemed to come very close to lassi perfection.
We are sure that these yogurt kefir banana lassi smoothies will quickly become your favorite go-to smoothies. They make a delicious and nutritious breakfast filled with a fabulous kick of energy. They also make a great afternon snack. The kids at my learning center tend to wind down and rest a bit around 3:30 or 4 pm and this is my favorite time to enjoy a healthy smoothie.
There is something about a simple combination of healthy, entirely natural ingredients that is pure culinary magic. Make sure you choose all natural ingredients, add them to your blender and mix. Smoothie magic in your very own kitchen has never been this easy. (No Starbucks barista needed!)

We made these smoothies again as part of an Indian feast we enjoyed on Sunday evening and they were amazing for dinner too!
- 25cl of kefir
- 1 greek yogourt
- 1 banana
- 1 tsp of honey
- Mix all the ingredients in a blender
